NM Ethics Essay ContestThe New Mexico Ethics Essay Contest (NMEEC) is an annual writing contest available to high school aged students living in New Mexico. The contest was founded to encourage the brightest young members of our communities from across the state to consider relevant ethical issues. It challenges them to submit thoughtful responses to be evaluated by noteworthy judges, which have included journalists, lawyers, scholars, educators and other diverse leaders across various professional disciplines. The contest uses a scoring rubric that evaluates each submission on content, originality, writing skill and format to determine a selection of finalists with the winners receiving cash prizes. The contest is organized by New Mexico Ethics Watch (NMEW), a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization and a principal leader in ethics reform in New Mexico.
